So I wouldn’t usually think of fringing and think “yeah, that’s awesome”, but I love it when an old trend gets a facelift and becomes a new trend. Yes, fringing is in, you only need to look to bloggers like Sabrina Meijer and Pernille Teisbaek if you’re not sure, these girls know how to take a new trend and make it their own. And if Tommy Ton and Scott Schumann have captured it in their lenses, it’s a given.

You can forget the Wild West, there’s no need for tan Minnetonka boots, well you can if you like, I’ve nothing against them and the new trend does give a nod to the prairie but for me the new look is a bit more slick and, well, black. The minimalist in me is big on black leather and I love how a little bit of fringe gives life and movement to a simple skirt or jacket. The Tamara Mellon skirt (above right on Meijer) just makes me want to shimmy and shake, and bust out a few Latino moves (I have absolutely no idea how but some day maybe).
