Those days when you wake up and look out from an incredible balcony across fields and trees as far as the eye can see are the best. If only every morning I could wake up in Provence, stroll up to the pool and dip my toes in, before sitting down to a homemade breakfast of freshly brewed coffee, fruit salad, yoghurt and croissants. My days here have actually been some of my favourite this year (aside from those in Antigua when my wonderful man proposed).
Travel makes me feel alive in a way that day-to-day life can’t ever compete with. Every morning you’re free to decide whether you want to lie around in the sun and read a book all day long or go exploring the local towns and markets, if you’re by the sea you could hire a boat and explore the small islands nearby. I love the rejuvenating feeling of the sun or your skin, they way food is always made with fresh local ingredients and a glass of wine at lunch is de rigueur. There’s no pressure to follow your usual routine and no household chores to worry about, if only every day was a summer holiday.
