I love it when someone else does my hair (or make-up). I swear I have the most challenging locks. I often let my hair decide what parting I’ll have for the day in an attempt to make my life just a little bit easier but then in the hands of a hairdresser it lays down and purrs like a sleeping kitten.
When The Bardou asked if I’d like to visit their new salon, tucked away at the back of The Library, a private members club and scion of peace and harmony in Covent Garden, I jumped at the chance. I’m always hoping I will learn the art of slightly mussed-up, “just got out of bed” hair / beach waves. The closest I’ve come to this is using the high bun after a quick dry method, this results in crazy volume for about an hour and then looks like I couldn’t be bothered not long after.
Often when I’ve asked for beach waves I get some serious Grecian curls, a little too manicured for me. With my hair there’s a fine line between just enough curl so that it doesn’t fall out straightaway and too much curl and it stays in overly perfect waves for the next two days.
The Bardou were super lovely, I had my appointment with Olivia, who I would definitely recommend. After washing my hair with some great smelling products I had my hair dried straight, before Olivia added the waves with a curling wand. I’m not usually one for heated wands and straighteners but I make an exception for anyone that can enlighten me on their correct use.
The result was large soft waves that didn’t look too perfect. Thank you Olivia and The Bardou for the lovely treat!
