About Style&Minimalism

Style&Minimalism is a platform that inspires a more conscious lifestyle. The choices we make everyday affect us, our families and friends, and the larger world. The articles shared on Style&Minimalism are aimed at helping people make better, more educated decisions about how they spend their money and how they impact our planet.

All articles are written by Vikki Pearson, a writer and photographer who previously worked as a graphic designer and art director in the fashion, beauty and interior design industries. Her preference is towards design that is calming and minimal.

The products you will find on Style&Minimalism are made predominantly with natural, sustainable materials and ingredients; ethically produced with consideration for the environment, the people and any animals involved in the process. As a new mother, Vikki is committed to creating a better future for the next generation.

About Fashion

Fashion

The fashion aesthetic on Style&Minimalism is minimal, drawing on classic designs that have been beautifully crafted from premium natural materials. I’m an advocate of slow fashion; choosing timeless, versatile essentials that will work season after season, and last just as long. By choosing a simple colour palette for my wardrobe I’m able to create more outfits from the pieces I own, easily mixing old with new.

About Beauty

Beauty & Wellbeing

The main factors governing which beauty products and treatments I use and feature are that they are functional, non-damaging and have a low environmental impact. Many of the products I use are made with natural and organic ingredients; I try to avoid unnecessary synthetic chemicals such as parabens, petrochemicals, phthalates, SLS and synthetic fragrances. I wholeheartedly disagree with animal testing and will not work with brands that allow animal testing on any of their products, anywhere in the world.

About Interiors

Interiors

The interior design aesthetic on Style&Minimalism is heavily influenced by Scandinavian design; best known for its stripped-back, functional style, it fits in well with my own desire to create neutral, calming spaces that fulfil a specific purpose. I source products from various brands and countries but there’s always a consistent look and feel to the pieces, and a high quality of craftsmanship.

About Travel

Travel

I like to escape London fairly often. Getting away helps me relax and gives me the opportunity to experience unfamiliar cultures, taste unexpected flavours and see life from a different perspective. Travel really nourishes my soul and opens my eyes. Small, quiet boutique hotels designed with comfort and relaxation in mind tend to be my preference, although I’m not averse to self-catering. I look for places that take a similar aesthetic approach to me, with calming, minimal interior design. This means I often come away inspired, with new ideas for my home.

What have you learnt since you started blogging?
I would never describe myself as a writer or journalist (I’m dyslexic) but I feel like I’ve gotten more confident in my writing since I started Style&Minimalism. I’ve also learnt to code, I designed and developed the site you’re on today.

I’m a small business owner. Can I send you products to feature?
I love receiving new products to try, as long as they’re suitable. I only guarantee to feature products from companies/brands that are willing to pay for sponsored content. However, if it’s a really nice product that I would choose to use regardless, there’s every chance that I will include it in my posts. If you think your product fits that description, then please get in touch.

Do you accept guest posts?
Style&Minimalism is a personal blog; the content I share is focused on my interests, passions and opinions. The nature of featuring guest posts goes against this, so I’m sorry but no I don’t currently.

Do you create sponsored content?
Yes, I really enjoy working with brands that are aligned with my ethos and aesthetic. I approach every project differently, creating something unique and authentic, and within budget. Please get in touch if you’re interested in working together.
